The Horus Heresy: Legions Wiki

In The Horus Heresy: Legions, the Shop, or "store", is where you can spend your currencies (or buy more of them) to get specific items, though generally, the focus of it is to get more Cards.

You can buy Gold and use it to buy Expansion Crates and Faction Crates, or buy Tickets to use later in Events. You can also buy Starter Decks.

-It is important to note, all of these (Gold, Tickets and Decks) are only buyable with real money.

While Gems cannot be bought, they're used for buying single Cards and can be earned by getting duplicates (if you already have the max amount of that Card), making it a cyclical exchange (buy Crates, get duplicates/Gems, buy single Cards, repeat).

The Shop could be divided in two, the "In-Game Shop" and the "Official Site" Shop. The latter having only items that can be bought with real money.

The in-game Shop is, generally, the best place to get the most amount of cards (in a fast, most "certain" way) or Cosmetics. While most of the items presented change daily, Expansion Crates and currencies doesn't.

In the Official Site Shop, or just "The Web Shop", you could find Gold and Cosmetics of different varieties, and Battle Pass related content. The available content usually last a week (and sometimes there's nothing to buy).

Before going to the different part of the Shop, lets address a very common question in the Player's community when in doubt of how to manage their currency (as a FTP Player, getting cards wise):

What do I buy?
Mostly this is a question new and not so new Players might ask, as experienced Players generally would have passed this "predicament" and have most of the cards in the game, or know the answer (for themself). This "answer" varies greatly from Player to Player, and realistically, it only depends on how you like to play (this or any game), so there are no "wrong" answers. However, if you stuck in the "how should I spend my currencies?" loop (which you'll be when starting), or regret the currency you spent already and don't feel like you are doing it "right", then the general recommendation will be:
  1. Buy Expansion Crates from the Faction or Factions you want to play. This way you'll amass a great number of cards, and if you happened to receive repeated ones, you'll get Gems to use later.
    • Avoid Faction Crates. Even if there's a chance to get "more" cards of a Faction you want, the amount of money you'll spend will ramp up over time (as they cost more), and it'll end in "less" earned on the long run.
  2. When enough Gems have been earned, and you are sure of the Faction you wanna play (and appears on the Daily Shop), then buy the cards that you are missing, but only of the harder to get rarities (is easy to get Grey and Greens cards, so aim for the Epic and Legendary ones).
    • If a Grey or Green one appears, and you absolutely need it (like staples) and haven't manage it to get it yet, then do buy it. But try to minimize this as Gems are fundamental and hard to get (at least at the beginning).
  3. DO NOT start changing the Crates you are buying, or mishmash a couple of one Expansion and a couple of others, till you are happy with the collection you have (at least, for the Deck you're using), or you'll be spending Gold in things you might not want (in the long run), instead of what you need.
    • This is unless, for whatever reason, you don't like the Faction you have been collecting and want to change it. If one so chooses to do so anyway, then try to reach the "30 Crates guarantee Legendary" (see Crates), so you'll have at minimum one of the hardest card rarity to get from said Crate, then change the Expansion and repeat this process.
  4. Supplement your collection with the "Battle Pass selected Faction" rewards, and with the cards you'll get with Events runs.

As you can see, buying BOTH Crates and Single Cards is important, and following these steps will ensure that your Deck is well set for competitive play, or at least in a state that you should feel confident to use.

All this said, we like to reiterate that this is only a recommendation based on the experience of long-time players, and of course, not the "correct and only way" to do so. Wanna just buy Expansion Crates and nothing more? Go for it! Want to just buy Cosmetics Crates with your gold and only collect cards from the Daily Shop? That's great too! The game gives you the freedom to decide how to play, your way, and never let any other Player tell you what to do if it takes from how you enjoy it (though is always nice to have the help of a "big brother", every now and then).

If you're still unsure of some aspects of this, and welcome the help, check our Buyers Guide, New Player/Advance Guides, or reach out to one of our Admins (which will gladly assist you, or be sent to Nurgle's Garden).

Crates Shop[]

In here is where you'll spend most of your Gold. The Expansion Crates will always offer the same "rarity chances", and amount, of cards they give; only change their content as new Expansion replace them (Prospero Expansion becoming Inferno Expansion, for example); and always cost 100 Gold. If you click in the (!) symbol next to the buy button, you can see how many Crates of that Expansion you have opened (this is for the "30 Consecutive Crates" Legendary chance, and works in any Crate).

The Cosmetics Crate have better chances to get higher quality items (and also applies the "30CC" Legendary chance) while also costing 100 Gold.

Daily Shop[]

The "daily" content of the Shop is, as implied, rotated daily with two Factions as the focus (the same Faction should appear at minimum twice a month). They are divided in four tabs:

Buy Cards[]

These cards are buyable from the beginning, with Gems, and one at a time. You can see the ones you have (if reached the max amount) when the "Owned" bar is displayed. In most cases, it will offer 1 Warlord (always the first card), 1 Legendary, 2 Epic and 4 Rare cards of a specific Faction, and 1 Neutral Faction card. Special Offers, some Events (in-game or in real life, like Halloween) might change the cards offered (more Legendaries, more Warlords, etc.).

● Veteran Cards[]

These cards can only be bought after you reach "Veteran Status". Besides that, they function the same as the "buy cards" tab.

In the image below you can see an example of what will display if you haven't reached the status.

● Buy Cosmetics[]

These Cosmetics can be bought from the beginning. It will always offer 1 Badge and 1 Card Back, 3 Warlord Quotes and Avatars, and 2 Warcries. All of these will be of varied rarities and , usually, the items will revolve around the Factions in the previous two tabs (with more emphasis on the first tab).

● Special Deals[]

Faction Crates and Starter Decks which usually revolve around the content in the first two tabs. As you can see, the Crates cost Gold while the Decks cost real money.

Purchasables[]

These are the buyable currencies (Gold and Tickets), and are only purchasable with real money. While they not "change" what is offer, the cash cost of it might do.

● Buy Coins[]

Mostly called "Gold", it is offered in an exponential way. The "FREE" option, is a one-time deal used for referrals (see Crates).

● Buy Tickets[]

You can only buy them one or ten at a time. If one so chooses to do so, then is recommended the "10 tickets" option, as doing 10 tickets Event runs is better for collecting.

Note- Because you have to spend real money on this, this recommendation is only for legal adults that can decide for themself how, and when, to spend their currencies.

The Web Shop[]

The Web Shop can be accessed from the game Official Site, from there, you can buy special deals only found in that page. These deals include Gold (in "better" quantity for cost) that have a weekly limit, the Premium Battle Pass and Battle Pass levels (only for the current Battle Pass).

The "main" use of this Shop however, usually, is the "Warlord Alternative Art" and Cosmetics that are offered, as that is the only place to get them. These items will generally last a week (sometimes more), and sometimes there won't be none in the store to buy (all Players should receive an in-game message stating that one is available).

Anything buy here is Account-bound, so be careful when buying (if you're planning to change your account or have multiples).
